27–20. That was the score the last time Gordon’s ACE Rugby faced Beechen Cliff  U18 –  a victory that secured Gordon’s third place in the RFU National ACE League.

Now, the two sides meet again on Wednesday, 23 September.

With last season’s result still providing plenty of motivation, Gordon’s will be looking to start a new season strongly against a familiar opponent. Beechen Cliff will have their own ambitions, setting up what should be a competitive encounter between two sides who know exactly what is at stake.

For Gordon’s, Wednesday is an opportunity to build on last season’s third place finish and make an early statement about their ambitions for the year.

The question is simple: can Gordon’s do it again?
