Gordon’s will be hosting a National Dance Competition, welcoming teams from many schools to participate in what is set to be an amazing day celebrating dance! The competition will be held in the Wynter Bee Theatre where soloists and groups from all Key Stages will take to the stage to perform their routines. This is the first dance competition hosted by Gordon’s School, and it indicates the surge in popularity and support for dance at the school, especially because of the scholarship system.

On Tuesday, 5th May, students from across the South of England will gather for the competition, which is judged by age. This year’s event will include: a soloist and a group from KS3 and KS4&5 from each school.

The Creative Arts Department at Gordon’s, which Dance is most definitely a part of, has long been a thriving area of success for school and our students and its growth has not stopped! Since the first initial dance show, which had a cast of around twenty students, dance as a P7 and P8 had boomed, with the most recent dance show having a cast of sixty and counting! It has been great to see many more younger students getting involved through the Creative Arts Carousel, which has allowed many more students to find a passion in dance.
We look forward to welcoming all of the schools and teams attending on Tuesday and cannot wait to hear the outcome!
