On Friday 14th November, the Semper Fidelis Singers will be performing Evensong at Guildford Cathedral alongside the choir of Guildford Cathedral.
To prepare for this performance, the singers have received a series of workshops from the leader of the Guildford Cathedral Choir, Katherine Dienes-Williams. Katherine is notable for being the first female leader of an English Cathedral Choir in 800 years!
The choir will be performing several pieces suitable for the service of Evensong. This is an event that takes place in most cathedrals every single day, usually at around 5.30 pm.
Traditionally, a setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis is performed, along with an Anthem and the Preces and Responses.
The service is open to the general public; and anyone is welcome to attend. There is no need to book tickets; just turn up and enjoy the music!
