Excitement is intensifying for the Seaford Fast Five Netball Tournament where the 1st and 2nd Netball teams will be competing on 19 March. They are keen and ready to smash this tournament out of the park. The 1st team has won 49/67 of their matches this season, so we are confident in their ability to continue this exceptional performance.

However, Gordon’s netball is not new to Seaford tournaments. Just two weeks prior to the Seaford Fast Five Tournament the 2nd team played in the Seaford Southern Sevens tournament, going against eight other teams, showing grit and determination throughout.

The Quarterly Gazette team spoke to Issy, one of the netballers taking part. Here’s what she has to say before the big event:

Q: Before the tournament, how are you and your team feeling?

‘We are feeling good about it and are hoping to do well.’

Q: What will you be specifically focusing on in your training?

‘In training we are mainly focusing on converting centre pass to goal as that is a weakness of ours.’

Q: Is there anything you would like to say to aspiring netball players?

‘To aspiring netballers, it is really important to keep going even when you’re losing or your whole teams heads are down, you need to inspire the rest of the team to keep going.’

We at the Quarterly Gazette, alongside the rest of the school, will certainly be wishing our team the best of luck!
