On a very rainy Thursday evening, eight houses emerged from the darkness and onto the great theatre stage to give the judges a spectacular array of six minute shows.
In the end, China House received the chunky trophy for the second time in a row after a performance about a baking reality show. The top four this year were all girls’ houses – unlike last year when Gravesend claimed second after a skit which had the crowd roaring with laughter.
This year though, the best boys house was Buckingham in fifth place with their performance of an unhygienic boy being bullied about his appearance, specifically his hair. Gravesend, Khartoum and Woolwich Boys trailed the leader.
Some notable performances include Kensington in second place with their dramatic performance about a woman on trial for witchcraft in the 1600s.
Gravesend was awarded sixth place although it was the play that had students in stitches. It was a parody of a scene from Titanic in which Jack dies with with a slight twist…
Depending in which house you are, some may see the Inter-House Drama as a success whilst others may view it as a robbery! But one thing is for sure, next year will be packed with even more laughs, dramatic scenes and content.
